This film centers on the life journey and soul retrospection of the young girl Yiyi, depicting her fragmentation torn between the trauma of her family of origin and pure emotions, and her final spiritual liberation.

In childhood, Yiyi witnessed her mother’s death from illness and discovered her father’s guilt and indifference toward his late wife, planting deep fear and alienation toward intimate relationships in her heart. In high school, she saw off her lover Feifei who left for a distant city, missing the chance to hug him due to inner resistance and leaving a lifelong regret. When they reunited in adulthood, the pure past filled Yiyi with expectation, yet she could not break free from childhood trauma. She rejected secular expressions of love, eventually breaking up with Feifei.

Mentally collapsed, Yiyi saw Feifei being intimate with “Anti-Yiyi” who looked identical to her, completely shattering her obsession. She went to an overpass and ended her life. After death, Yiyi’s soul retraced her life, passing by the childhood park and high school street, and saw Feifei crying bitterly in remorse for losing her.

Finally, Yiyi arrived at the seaside. The tides washed away her exhaustion from love and hatred. She let go of all obsessions and sailed away. With the belief that “Only by forever cutting off ignorance can one attain liberation”, she achieved spiritual salvation, pondering the themes of innocence and secularity, obsession and liberation in life.
