Kaka’s Winter Break Diary
Dir. Joe Shi | China | 2025 | 14:08
The television in the living room is broadcasting a news report about “Japan’s discharge of nuclear contaminated water into the sea.” Kaka’s mother is bustling around in the kitchen preparing lunch, while middle school student Kaka is struggling to write his winter break diary. After assisting his mother with grocery shopping, Kaka rides his bike and stops at the shore of the Ou River. As he reminisces about the news reports he heard at home, Kaka envisions a monster emerging from the polluted waters, with fighter jets valiantly engaging in battle against it. Upon returning home, he writes down his imagination onto his winter break diary.
